Terms of Use

Last updated: 2 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the TintLens app for macOS, iPadOS and iOS, the Safari extension it installs, and this website. By installing or using TintLens you agree to them.

1. Licence

TintLens is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your purchase grants a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices associated with your Apple Account, in accordance with Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which applies in addition to these terms. Where the two conflict for App Store purchases, Apple's agreement governs.

2. What you may not do

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense or rent the app.
  • Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice.

3. Themes you create

Custom themes you make are yours. Exporting a theme as a share code or a .tintlens file and giving it to someone else is expressly allowed and is a supported feature — no permission from us is needed.

4. Third-party websites

TintLens changes how third-party websites are displayed in your browser, on your device, for you. It does not modify those websites for anyone else, and it does not alter their content — only the colors used to render it. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any website you view through TintLens. Site names and logos that may appear in screenshots or documentation belong to their respective owners.

5. Availability and changes

Web platforms change. We may add, alter or remove features, and a future version of Safari or of a given website may affect how well TintLens renders that site. We aim to keep the app working and to fix rendering problems that are reported, but we do not guarantee that every website will render correctly.

6. No warranty

TintLens is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to TintLens is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and statutory consumer rights in your jurisdiction are unaffected.

8. Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are subject to Apple's policies. Request one through reportaproblem.apple.com. If something is broken, write to us first — we would rather fix it.

9. Changes to these terms

Updated terms are published on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use TintLens after a change means you accept the updated terms.
